# Original artifact record

The original JIPCalc Java application, authored by **Ravi K. Damarla**, and its documentation were recovered from the jafar.com Internet Archive collection on August 2, 2026. Files under `original/` are preserved without modification.

The recovered pages describe a Java 1.1 application offering subnet/supernet calculations, CIDR, network/host ranges, decimal and hexadecimal formats, graphical bit boundaries, subnet tables, and a base converter. The modern rebuild carries those ideas forward for both current IP families while keeping the historical record separate.

The JAR and archives were preserved and may be listed for static inspection, but are not executed by the modern site.
